New York City Music Scene – The Sweet Beat: Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop Hip-Hop in the Big Apple
As you might have guessed, my music library is rather extensive and eclectic. Needless to say, I have a lot of options. However, there are times where I get pulled in by a certain genre and stick with it for an entire week.
I spent the past week diving into my hip-hop section and relived the golden age of the genre. Once the weekend came, I was able to catch up with my friends and have a music discussion with them. My friend Leon (Lee Bueller) has been making hip-hop music for several years and quite frankly, his music is simply refreshing.
In a genre that’s withering away in quality, Lee stands out with hard hitting lyrics that are meaningful and memorable. His most recent mix tape, Triple H, is a musical journey inspired by a past relationship. The mix tape features an appearance by fellow recording artist, Sydnee (from Grandmaster Flash’s new single: Swagger) on a song called “Classified” and is filled with many other clever and passionate songs.
Hip-Hop should be an outlet of self-expression and that’s exactly what Triple H is! It’s a unique release from a talented up-and-coming artist who isn’t your average rapper. If you want to support what is soon to be a classic, download Lee Bueller’s Triple H for free at his Myspace page or at my personal blog.

I’ve been following the Sweet Beat for awhile and I just wanted to say thank you. I’m writing this comment to let you know I downloaded the mix tape and loved it. It has been repeating on my IPOD for the past week. I look forward for future posts!
