Happenin’ Hotels: I already know what you are going to say, but trust me – I have read up on this place. It’s not another members only snob hangout. It’s a members only hangout at the Thompson LES Hotel. Does that make a difference? Sure it does. Above Allen has opened, softly. This means that if you try to call them, they will deny service. Just stroll upon the 7th floor and test it to see if you get served. Though membership cards will soon be dolled out, you might still be able to get in. Food is served on behalf of Shang who dishes up modern Chinese. The dining room will be open Mondays and Tuesdays or from 6 to 7:30 PM through Saturday. Good luck! Located at 190 Allen Street.
Cool Culture: The Doc is in the house! If you don’t know who I am talking about, then you seriously need to do some homework. His new book, Hope on a Tightrope will be talked about during a Q & A. Open to the public, You get a copy of the book and CD in the admission price of $28. Taking place Saturday January 24th from 7 – 9 PM. Located at The Community Church of New York, 40 East 35th Street (between Park & Madison).

The class is a two-hour experience and costs $60. Check it out at 265 East 78th Street.
Bee Here: Walk it out folks. Bee a walking fool this weekend and join Walkin’ NY for their Sunday Walking Tour of Central Park. Stopping along to visit the Zoo, Delacorte Clock, The Literary Walk, Band Shell and Belvedere Castle – you best be bringing some hot cocoa for your pedestrian venture. The cost is only $15 and it begins at Noon on Sunday January 25th – in front of the Statue of General Sherman at 5th Avenue & 59th Street.
