Gay Life – The Paulinator: Home Sweet Home, Part 2
Happy New Year! When we last spoke, your fearless leader (moi) was attempting to survive eleven days at the homestead. (The homestead being rural country farmland and a far cry from city life.)
I’ve come to the conclusion that this past trip was very similar to Lindsey Lohan’s trip to rehab or even Paris Hilton’s short duration in the slammer. Imagine partying practically every other night, going home with men on a regular basis and really doing whatever the heck you felt like doing 24/7… I know it sounds divine, right? Well, now imagine you’ve grown accustomed to this lifestyle and all of a sudden it is taken away from you and you must unfortunately revert back to less fun days. I’m not country boy anymore, (Well, actually I am, you can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy!) but I’ve grown accustomed to my lifestyle in the Big Apple.
Now it’s a new year and change it is a-coming! A new year also means New Year’s resolutions and a chance to start fresh. I’ve got one of each to share with you. Following up with last week’s entry regarding my older brother… we seemed to reach a silent understanding. He came home, along with all of the siblings for New Year’s and I was sure mayhem would ensue, but instead my brother initiated conversation and really made an effort to treat me as if I was a human being. I totally took baby steps with him. At one point there was a comment made by my thirteen year old brother (totally clueless, b.t.dubs) who attempted to ruffle my feathers and say that I was not going to get a girlfriend before our other brother. Well, I quietly looked at him and said, “Yeah. You’re probably right. He will most likely get a girlfriend before I do.” I looked to my older brother and said, “Isn’t that right, you will get a girlfriend before me I bet!” I think there was a “oh whatever” response, which was better than nothing and I’m pretty sure I saw a smirk too. A new year and a new attitude. Change it is a coming!
Now as far as those pesky new year resolutions… I don’t tend to make them simply because I don’t have the stamina to make them last for the entire year. In theory they are a great idea. Start the year with a goal and hope to make it last all the way until December. Well, I would like to think I make goals for myself throughout the year, so I’m really ok with not committing to something at the start of the new year. However, with that said, I did take the start of a fresh year to begin a new quest. I have been sleeping around quite a bit and while I enjoy it and will mostly continue this plan of action, I would also like to be “wined and dined” so to speak. I would really enjoy, as my friends call it: dating. This way I can look into finding a hot guy I can date AND sleep with on an regular basis! What a novel thought!? And here I was about ready not to make a new year’s resolution. Change it is a coming!
