1-17-08 Weekly Marketing Meeting

Brrr……another cold winter day in Manhattan, but nonetheless work must get done. Before I delve into the happenings of our latest weekly marketing meeting here at neighborbee, I think I should introduce myself. My name is Matt and I’m a new intern here at neighborbee; helping them with their blog content and overall marketing strategies.

Now that we are acquainted with each other, I think I can finally get into the events that took place during the weekly meeting of neighborbee’s marketing brain trust at Fordham University’s Lincoln Center campus. ?Being a new intern, this meeting was the first time I got to meet neighborbee’s resident marketing guru, Dr. Bee. She had just returned from a trip to Italy and had a few words of wisdom to share with the rest of the marketing team to help stimulate those people’s brains who may have been suffering from frostbite.

Diving headfirst into the agenda for the meeting, there were plenty of ideas being thrown around for the buzz marketing campaign ranging from chalk drawings, to the aforementioned “bee keeper” campaign. With the chalk drawings, the issue of legality was brought up as there may be some people unhappy with chalk on their sidewalk, and it also may be illegal and get you five years in jail…I made that jail thing up, but it could be true. Nonetheless, head honcho Anthony promised to sort out all the legal issues shortly so we know that we won’t get arraigned over drawing on the sidewalk so don’t be surprised if some impressive looking chalk bees show up on your community’s sidewalk in Manhattan sooner than later.

Merchandising was a topic I was sad we didn’t discuss more in depth this week, with last week’s dialogue over the definition of “booty shorts” an impressive one which also included an exquisite visual aid drawn by one of the interns. Even without heated discussion over neigborbee “booty shorts,” this week’s marketing meeting was an all around success with multiple marketing ideas getting fleshed out, more neighborbee slang being tossed around (cross-pollinate = people contributing to multiple projects), and people getting a better sense of where Carl is going with the design of the website.
